刘芳博士现为长江商学院金融学研究学者，曾担任欧洲投资银行项目研究员和北京洲通投资研究所金融分析员。她于2009年三月获得比利时鲁汶大学金融博士学位。

刘芳在攻读博士期间在国际期刊“Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies, “the Financial Review”, “the World Economy” 发表三篇论文，多次在国际会议上报告和评论文章，曾担任期刊评审人以及“中欧论坛2007 “会议翻译。
