王一江博士现为长江商学院经济学及人力资源学教授、副院长，明尼苏达大学卡尔森管理学院终身教授，美国密歇根大学戴维逊研究所研究员。1989年后曾兼职担任世界银行顾问，清华大学经济管理学院中国经济研究所高级研究员，中国留美经济学会副会长。研究兴趣主要集中在组织理论、劳动经济学与人力资源管理、中国经济、货币与公共金融等。在过去几年中，王一江博士在国际著名期刊发表多篇论文，并被大量引用。
